Latvian Cup stays in their places

Today in Sigulda's bobsleigh and luge track was held the traditional race '' Latvian luge Cup”.


Competition participated men's, ladies, junior men's, junior ladies and youth men and women A, B, C and D age groups.


On the starting line, went all Olympic candidates


Mārtiņš Rubenis, which showed a two-run total time of 1 minute 38,346 seconds and it was enought to defend the cup he won one year ago, second place for Inars Kivlenieks who showed the time 1 minute 38,513 seconds. But the third fastest today was junior Riks Kristens Rozītis - 1 minute 38,893 seconds. Kristaps Mauriņš and Artūrs Dārznieks shared the fourth and fifth place.


For junior men's, like last year, the fastest was Riks Kristens Rozītis who made a new personal record at the first run - 49,177 seconds. 2nd place won Roberts Millers his total time 1minute 44,369 seconds.


Junior ladies shows Excellent performance


Eliza managed to protect their 1st place in team, winning the cup, the same like last year her Two-run total time was 1minute 26,014 seconds. The second fastest ladie- Ulla Zirne, she was also the fastest among junior ladies - 1minute 27.392 seconds.
A pleasant surprise- Kendija Aparjode! In two run total time 1minute 27 545 seconds she was the third fastest among the lady's, leaving behind Saiva Dambīte and Kendija also won 2nd place among junior ladies.


There was a great “fight” between double crews. Brothers Andris Šics / Juris Šics with two-run total time of 1minute 25,707 seconds left Oskars Gudramovičs/ Pēreris Kalniņš with the two run total time 1minute 25,713 seconds, only 0,06 slower then the winners!


Young people climb to the top


For '' A '' Youth men's, with no surprise was Kristers Aparjods, which showed a two- run total time of 1minute 26,636 seconds. With a 1 minute 27,146 seconds the second fastest today was Gunārs Bergs , leaving behind Ralfs Bērziņš- 1 minute 27,435 seconds.
Young women in this age group, had two members. Zelma Bite, with a time 1minute 26,276 seconds ahead of Keita Kate Farenhorste, which showed a two- run total time of 1 minute 40,414 seconds.


For '' B '' age group of youth on the start went five athletes. Among them the fastest was Konstantīns Buglaks - 1minute 26.899 seconds. Second place won Roberts Plūme , who showed time 1minute 28,034 seconds , leaving behind Jurģs Zinovejs - 1minute 28,498 seconds.
For Youth women in the same age group the fastest was Anda Upīte , she showed a two- run total time of 1minute 15,278 seconds. Cicjura Arina had the second fastest time- 1minute 16,484 seconds. But Sigita Berziņa won 3rd place - 1minute 18,357 seconds.


The fastest doble for youth was Krauze / Knets, they showed a two- run total time of 1minute 14.610 seconds , leaving behind Sakovičs / Vanzovičs double . But 3rd place won Tupe / Šlakota - 1minute 14,829 seconds.


'' C '' youth age group a victory today for Lūkas Krasts, leaving behind Viktor Nahodkin and Aleks Mišin. But in '' D '' youth age group the fastest was Kaspars Rinks, but the 2nd place won Valts Pavlovs ,the third fastest this time Fēliks Grantiņš.
